Sephora premiered its first global film, “Beauty & Belonging” at the BrandStorytelling event during the Sundance Film Festival.

Directed by Anastasia Mikova, the film features conversations with 75 Sephora employees and founders of iconic beauty brands, including Glow Recipe, Caudalie and Makeup by Mario, illustrating how beauty brings people together across borders and cultures.

Shot in eight countries, the film explores individual experiences in discovering makeup for the first time, self-expression and freeing oneself from the gaze of others, encapsulating Sephora’s core values of inclusion, diversity and equity. Through the film, Sephora celebrates its passionate worldwide community and affirms its purpose of championing a world of inspiration and inclusion where everyone can celebrate their beauty.

Guillaume Motte, CEO of Sephora, underlines the importance of the project, which embodies the spirit of the brand and its role as a catalyst of emotions and creativity. “I’m very proud of this project, which is a first for Sephora. We gave Anastasia Mikova carte blanche to talk about Sephora in her own way. The film shows the power of beauty to change lives and the power of belonging to a caring community.”

Available on YouTube and the Inside Sephora corporate site, “Beauty & Belonging” is a powerful statement in support of beauty that is inclusive, inspiring and open to everyone.
