Position

As a strategic business partner, the Human Resources Manager will align talent strategies with business objectives, supporting the brand's ambitions. This role will support our Retail teams to enhance organizational effectiveness through innovative HR practices, including talent acquisition, learning & development, employee engagement and employee relations. The Human Resources Manager will be a key partner to the retail leadership teams by implementing HR strategies driving employee engagement and retention and ultimately supporting business growth.

 

 

Job responsibilities

As Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for the full talent journey, from acquisition to offboarding, for the cluster of stores in your dedicated scope.

Duties & responsibilities include (but are not limited):

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:

  • Work closely with the hiring manager to identify profiles & skills needed and determine the acquisition strategy;
  • Source, identify and interview candidates to ensure a match for business needs and culture;
  • Prepare compensation proposal requests and draft employment offers;
  • Manage onboarding for all retail talents in partnership with the Retail Learning Manager;
  • Proactively pipeline candidates in the market for future openings and stay up to date on local markets intelligence specifically on hiring trends and competition;
  • Responsible for ensuring the maintenance of FTE budget and alignment of staff cost, headcount, and HR KPI’s.

Talent & Leadership Development

  • Oversee talent management for your stores through talent reviews, structured and actionable development plans;
  • Ensure the identification, development, retention and succession plans of talents within the organization;
  • Manage and administer the annual performance appraisal and merit review processes;
  • Act as a coach and a challenger to retail leadership, providing guidance and support to develop their leadership capabilities.

Employee Relations

  • Manage in-store Employee Relations cases ensuring compliance with federal and provincial employment laws & regulations across our four provinces in Canada (Ontario, Quebec, British-Columbia and Alberta);
  • Coach and educate managers on employee relations skills (conflict resolution, de-escalation, etc.).

Profile

The ideal candidate should possess a significant experience in an HR generalist role, with direct responsibility of a client group, demonstrating a strong commercial acumen and understanding or interest for retail.

The candidate should have a comprehensive knowledge of best practices in talent acquisition, management and development, and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Experience in managing and driving organizational and cultural change is essential, along with the ability to influence and interact effectively at all levels to meet talent and business expectations. A thorough knowledge of employee and labor relations laws, regulations, and practices is also necessary.

Proficiency in both English and French is essential for this role.

The role is based on our Corporate Office in Toronto, ON.
