Our commitment

FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

The LVMH Group is using the power of its influence to galvanize the luxury industry through concrete actions and to drive far-reaching changes to help protect ecosystems. To combine sustainability and desirability, in 2020 LVMH launched LIFE 360 (LVMH Initiatives for the Environment), an action program based on quantified objectives for 2023, 2026 and 2030. It has four strategic pillars: creative circularity, biodiversity, climate, traceability and transparency.

LVMH is part of a process of continuous progress: A Water strategy adapted to the Group's businesses and an action program dedicated to supporting its suppliers have rounded out LIFE 360 since 2023. A reporting system organized by the Group's 75 Maisons makes it possible to report on the progress of these objectives, and structures LVMH’s responses to the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive). An approach facilitated by a network of nearly 200 environmental correspondents within the Maisons.

OUR STRATEGIC PILLARS

  • AMPLIFYING CREATIVE CIRCULARITY
To achieve the targets set out in the LIFE 360 program regarding creative circularity, the Group and its Maisons are deploying a range of sustainable services – such as repair, refill or recovery services through repurposed product channels – and expanding the application of sustainable design in its products and packaging. LVMH constantly optimizes its existing fabrics and also invents new sustainable fabrics.
  • PROTECTING BIODIVERSITY
The products from the Group and its Maisons derive their exceptional character from the rich bounties of nature. Yet the protection and regeneration of ecosystems are objectives that require long-term commitments. To fulfil this aim, the Group improves the way it measures and reduces its impact on the value chain and puts in place regenerative farming practices for its raw materials. Beyond these efforts, the Group supports initiatives to regenerate and preserve the world’s major ecosystems and shares its knowledge with other companies and institutions, contributing to and harnessing collective intelligence.
  • TAKING ACTION FOR THE CLIMATE
The Group’s decarbonization trajectory is aligned with the path set out in the Paris Agreement and has been validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi). It is based on a Climate Transition Plan to reduce its main emission sources. The operational action plans require the input and involvement of all relevant internal and external stakeholders across every business area. The Maisons have their own carbon trajectory, with targets and solutions tailored to their operations.
  • GUARANTEEING RESPONSIBLE AND TRANSPARENT VALUE CHAINS
Supply chain traceability is essential to guarantee responsible practices all throughout the product life cycle. Drawing on its certification policy initially developed in 2016, the Group is honing its upstream traceability processes for the most complex supply chains by cooperating more closely with suppliers and market players. It promotes enhanced traceability within strategic supply chains and collaborates with its peers to establish industry-wide standards.
The environmental challenges can be overcome only if everyone works together, which means getting public institutions, the private sector, scientists, NGOs and industry peers all on the same page.

LA MILLIÈRE, THE HOME OF THE LIFE ACADEMY

Located 45 km from Paris, La Millière is an exceptional site spanning 30 hectares classified as a zone of interest for fauna and flora. In partnership with the nonprofit set up by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, in 2024, LVMH inaugurated the first LIFE Academy, which provides employees with environmental training. With its exclusive infrastructure, La Millière represents a very special location providing an immersive experience integrating Guerlain’s educational garden (Le jardin des partages), where people can connect with biodiversity. It is devoted to collaborative learning and innovation, and it will help the Group meet its goal of training 100% of its employees in sustainability issues by 2026. In 2024, over 73,000 hours of training were provided globally.
La Millière also welcomes schools, NGOs and nonprofits, reflecting the Group’s desire to share its savoir-faire and act as a catalyst for sustainable transformation.
