Nicolas Ghesquière presented his Louis Vuitton Women’s Spring-Summer 2025 collection in the Cour Carrée of the Louvre in Paris.
Models walked a runway constructed from 1,000 signature trunks, expressing a lightness and fluidity that embody the Maison’s spirit of travel.
French fashion is a formidable soft power, radiating a tradition of savoir-faire, an art de vivre and a cultural singularity. The new women’s collection thus plays out on two levels: softness and power, reconciling two antagonists. Sartorial soft power by Louis Vuitton creates a back-and-forth between contradictory yet harmonious opposites: the suppleness of structure, intractable lightness, mastering vibrations, spidery depths, ethereal opulence and razor-sharp delicacy.
This resolute femininity begins a new chapter between Louis Vuitton and Nicolas Ghesquière. Renaissance-inspired regalia and necklaces impart fresh momentum after a decade of collaboration. Like landscapes over time, pictorial works by artist Laurent Grasso reprising his series Studies into the Past appear on several pieces. The silhouettes forge links between past and present with their gliding movement on shoes crafted from trunk handles. Accessories include a revisited Greenwich travel bag and the new Rider. The Petite Malle fetes its tenth anniversary and will soon star in a traveling exhibition featuring a hundred interpretations by artisans, some embellished with gold leaf or jewels.
