Packaging Supply & Procurement Planner

Job Summary:

The Packaging Supply & Procurement Planner is responsible for managing the procurement process to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of packaging & sales support materials necessary for the company's operations. This role involves meticulous planning and strategic foresight to anticipate future demand, identify suppliers, issue purchase orders, and manage the procurement cycle from order placement to delivery, coordinating actions to maintain optimal inventory levels and business continuity.

Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse historical data and market trends for planning future needs.
  • Develop procurement plans to meet production capacity, timing and business requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and address any issues or concerns.
  • Issue purchase orders and manage the procurement cycle from order placement to delivery.
  • Allocate demand to suppliers based on the product categories, volume, capacity and timing to market.
  • Optimizing storage solutions to minimize costs while maintaining sufficient stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels and adjust procurement plans to avoid stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and supplier performance.
  • Prepare regular reports on procurement metrics and present findings to management.
  • Work closely with Packaging product development, Packaging Demand and Inventory Planner, logistics, and other departments to align procurement activities with overall business objectives.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Profile

Qualifications / Professional Capabilities

  • University degree required, focus on Supply Chain, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in planning (supply, manufacturing, inventory, or demand planning) is required.
  • Proficient in data analysis, strong math, and problem-solving skills with very good knowledge of Excel is required.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience of working in an SAP environment, Power BI would be an advantage.
  • Attention to details, ensuring accuracy in aspects of planning from order placement to stock reconciliation.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Fluent in English, French is a plus.
