According to the WHO, 16% of the global population currently lives with a disability.
For the International Day of Persons with disabilities on December 3, LVMH highlights its ongoing commitment to fostering an even more inclusive environment for its clients, talents, and partners.
The exceptional interest generated by the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, accompanied by unprecedented media coverage, has helped shift perceptions of disability. Launched on this occasion, LVMH’s "DARE Accessibility" initiative promotes action to support clients, employees, and partners with disabilities by encouraging employees worldwide to submit their ideas in the following categories:
1. Physical accessibility (stores and offices)
2. Products and services for customers with disabilities
3. Employment accessibility
4. Digital accessibility
This initiative is part of the "DARE" intrapreneurship program, developed by LVMH's Open Innovation team, which aims to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among employees by encouraging them to transform ideas into concrete solutions for the Group.
The Paralympic athletes supported by LVMH for Paris 2024 - Pauline Déroulède (wheelchair tennis), Marie Patouillet (para-cycling), and Timothée Adolphe (para-athletics) - played an active role in the call for contributions campaign by sharing their personal daily experiences. Their inspiring testimonies generated significant enthusiasm, resulting in more than 250 ideas submitted by employees from nearly 40 Maisons across all regions.
An evaluation committee, composed of internal experts alongside Maisons Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior Couture, Parfums Christian Dior, Tiffany & Co., and Hublot, has recommended the most promising proposals, enabling all Maisons within the Group to select and implement the ideas most relevant to their activities. The initiatives chosen by the Maisons will be announced in early 2025.
