Behind the fashion world’s high-profile runway shows is a lesser known realm of precision and ingenuity, the world of craft and design.  
The Loro Piana Knit Design Award offers a powerful springboard for design students through special recognition of their knitwear prowess.  

Each year, the competition invites students from leading design schools to explore and transform Loro Piana’s iconic yarns as part of innovative new creations. The projects are judged by an independent jury whose members have been selected for their experience in textiles, and their ability to identify promising future designers.   
 
Award winners have an opportunity to realize their creation with support from Loro Piana knitwear teams and then showcase their work during the Pitti Filati Fair in Florence.  
 
This initiative reflects Loro Piana’s commitment to nurturing traditional knitwear craft while encouraging fresh ideas and techniques.
