KENZO creative director Nigo presented his Fall-Winter 2025 collection for the Maison in a spectacular runway show in the Palais de Chaillot, with the Eiffel Tower as backdrop
Entitled "The Kenzo Commute", the collection is inspired by a futuristic high-speed journey between Tokyo and Paris, revisiting the famous KENZO Train Show from Fall-Winter 1998.
Reimagining concepts from the Maison, Nigo lets the idea of passage inspire a cultural cross-pollination between dress codes, textures and patterns, painting it in a playful and preppy palette invigorated by the energy of travel.
Celebrating a lifelong creative friendship, Nigo invited American artist Futura 2000 to collaborate on the collection. Together, they fuse the artist’s signature stylized atom motif and KENZO’s emblematic boke flower, illustrating pieces in ripstop, nylon and embroidered denim.
The collection’s untraditional silhouettes and fluffy textures bring Japanese constructions to classic suits, while workwear informed by Nigo’s archives adopts wintry materials.
Patterns and motifs for the collection are centered on train journeys. Kenzo Weave, inspired by traditional Japanese flooring patterns, is expressed through jacquard in denim and tailoring. Accessories reference the commuter lifestyle, including leather bags posing as brown paper or shoes that fuse subcultural expressions with workwear. Leather belts set off the looks with punched boke-shaped eyelets, adding a distinctive final touch to the collection.
