DISCOVER MÉTIERS OF GENERAL MANAGEMENT

CEO/President position holders are responsible for Maison's overall strategy, organizational structure, budgets, people, financial outcomes, and business metrics. They have a full fledged responsibility for managing revenue and cost elements of a business unit (Maisons, Regions, Countries) income statement, profit & loss (P&L). CEO/President position holders usually oversee most or all of the business unit’s marketing and sales functions (incl. Retail network management, E-commerce, Wholesale network, Business development …) as well as the day-to-day operations of the business and support functions (Legal, IT, HR, Finance, Ops and Supply, Creation and Design, Figital…). They provide direct management of key functional managers and executives in the business unit.

Regional / Zone Management position holders are responsible for multi country management with functional teams reporting directly to the Zone (Finance / Human Resources / Merchandising / Communication...). They spearhead innovative strategic thinking; manage company resources productively; direct the people development and deployment process; build a dynamic organization; and oversee day-to-day operations.

Country / Area Management position holders are responsible for a country (except Japan and China that may be considered as a Region) or for a market area. They develop commercial strategy and increased client base ; spearhead innovative strategic thinking; manage company resources productively; direct the people development and deployment process; build a dynamic organization; and oversee day-to-day operations.

Product BU Director role covers the whole product value chain (design, strategic marketing, purchasing, innovation, pricing, forecast, and in some cases industrial as well). Depending on the Maisons, Product BU director may have a P&L responsibility.

Executive Assistant position holders act as a first point of contact for CEO, President or Members of Comex. They are responsible for dealing with correspondence and phone calls, managing diaries and organising meetings and appointments, often controlling access to the manager/executive, booking and arranging travel transport and accommodation, organising events and conferences, reminding the manager/executive of important tasks and deadlines, typing, compiling and preparing reports, presentations and correspondence, implementing and maintaining procedures/administrative systems, liaising with staff, suppliers and clients.

Personal Assistant position holders act as a first point of contact for Zone President and Directors. They are responsible for dealing with correspondence and phone calls, managing diaries and organising meetings and appointments, often controlling access to the manager/executive, booking and arranging travel, transport and accommodation, organising events and conferences, reminding the manager/executive of important tasks and deadlines, typing, compiling and preparing reports, presentations and correspondence, implementing and maintaining procedures/administrative systems, liaising with staff, suppliers and clients.

OUR TALENTS

I’m deputy editor for digital content and organization at the French newspaper Le Parisien. This means I manage the teams that provide editorial content for our digital media, including new video formats, podcasts and social media. I’m also responsible for the organization of our editorial teams since this is directly impacted by Le Parisien’s digital transformation.
