Terrazas de los Andes

Terrazas de Los Andes is a story we began writing nearly 3 decades ago – one of adventurers who made bold decisions at a time before the winemaking potential of Argentina was known. These pioneers and explorers in love with the remarkable landscapes of Mendoza aspired to reveal the terroirs of the Andes through fine wines worthy of export.

Identity

Our story began three decades ago, when a French winemaker embarked on a journey that would redefine winemaking in Argentina. Armed with an antique altimeter, he and his team uncovered the Andes foothills’ best kept secret—the power of optimum elevation to reveal Mendoza’s untapped potential to create world-class wines. At the heart of this audacious vision, these bold pioneers believed that we had to cultivate our own grapes to go beyond in quality. Today, we own the best set of cool climate vineyards in the most recognized appellations in Mendoza, each of them at its optimum altitude. This mosaic of diverse terroirs and singular wine components are elevated through our blending expertise giving us the luxury to craft the fullest expression of each varietal. All these years of experience taught us that producing fine wine is about understanding and magnifying Nature, while protecting it for the future generation.

“Grand is the result of blending 14 selected plots coming from three of our most exceptional high-altitude vineyards, which complements each other, offering a diversity of elevations and soils that brings texture, breadth and complexity to the final creation. It seeks to offer to the Malbec lovers the fullest varietal expression of Mendoza.”

“We have the chance to own and cultivate our vineyards in unique Terroirs. Each vineyard for us is like a single gemstone rising from the Andes. Like a gem cutter, our precise viticulture and respectful winemaking would reveal the beauties of each gemstone. We like to compare our final blend to a necklace made of gems; sapphire, emerald, ruby and diamond, each one with its singular property. Through the art of blending, the creation becomes a unique composition, which we offer to our consumer”

Style and Range

Terrazas de los Andes is distinguished by its refined way of receiving guests, which has redefined the standards of wine brands. Nestled in the heart of the estate, six guest rooms allow visitors to discover the Argentinian “art de vivre”, through local viticulture and gastronomy. The interiors of these rooms draw inspiration from the surrounding nature as well as the grape varieties used in the creation of the House’s grand crus: Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Petit Manseng and Torrontés.

With Malbec at heart, Terrazas de los Andes wines offer a journey from fruit expression to deeper and more complex wines.
